This Earth Day, and every day, let us remind ourselves that the survival of our planet is not seperate from the survival of humanity.
Every move we make, every policy we pass, that is not in the best interest of the environment is a direct blow to our collective future. Because protecting our ecosystems, climate, and natural resources isn’t optional—it’s essential for safeguarding the well-being of current and future generations.
We must act not just out of responsibility, but out of love for the life that we hope to preserve for generations to come.🌏
We know, as of late, headlines can feel heavy — the steady stream of environmental deregulation and policy rollbacks are without a doubt a lot to carry.
But in times like these, we must remind ourselves that hopelessness is the enemy of justice. In the face of uncertainty, we choose collective action. We choose to stand for the health of our oceans, the resilience of our coastal communities, and the future we all share.
And YOUR our voice is a critical part of this movement. Speaking up can manifest in small ways! Sometimes it starts with something as simple as a conversation—with a loved one, a coworker, a neighbor, or someone standing beside you in line. It’s these small moments that build momentum.
We believe in the power of the people. WE BELIEVE IN YOU! After all, “we are the ones we have been waiting for.

We were summoned to the Vatican to discuss illuminating the facade of St. Peter’s Basilica with endangered species. My friends, Travis Threlkel, Chris LeJeune and myself faced a team of the Pope’s cardinals who were stone faced after our pitch - That we were even there was a bit of a miracle, the 3 of us weren’t Catholic but we were driven with the audacious goal of trying to get a billion people aware of the Anthropocene, the world’s 6th great extinction.
Studies show you only need 10% of a population to begin creating social change - a billion would be a marker that we were starting to move the needle. The Pope named himself after St. Francis, the patron Saint of Animals and he himself was trying to get his flock of over a billion followers to take better care of the Earth. World leaders were meeting in Paris soon for COP 21 and The Pope wanted to create awareness about the plight of animals from environmental degradation. For a film we created called Racing Extinction we had lit up the Empire State Building with endangered species - but we came up short of our goal - with the Pope as a co-conspirator, we had a prayer of reaching a billion people.
After an uncomfortable long silence, the Pope’s number two spoke up, “If it was up to me, this would never happen.”
“Why?” I asked.
“The last artist to do anything on the facade was Michael Angelo. But the Pope wants this to happen - so it will.”
The event had over 4.4 billion media views.
AMAZING NEWS!!! 🎉🎉🎉🐋🐳
Iceland’s Hvalur hf has announced there will be NO whaling this year!!!
Why? Because of declining demand for whale meat, and economic pressures.
Thanks to the worldwide movement against whaling, and thanks to EVERYONE who helped raise awareness—we’re hopeful whaling won’t continue in Iceland after this season either. Your support and donations have helped supporters on the ground in Iceland as well!!
Groups like @hardtoportorg and @last_whaling_station have been committed to ending whaling, and we couldn’t be more grateful for their efforts.
Public support for commercial whaling in Iceland has been falling for years—a 2024 poll conducted by Maskína for the Iceland Nature Conservation Association found that more Icelanders believe whaling harms the country’s image abroad than helps it.
Now, we must keep up the momentum and work towards ending whaling in Norway and Japan.
