Darby & Jesse
When Jesse and Darby first entered the intervention, they had already been taking steps to limit single use plastics and had been avoiding synthetic fragrances for some time.
So it came as a shock when their lab results showed alarming levels of phthalates and BPA’s in their system. They were determined to learn more and threw themselves into the elimination process. They overhauled their kitchen, ditching dish sponges, eliminated vitamins in capsules, and swapped anything made with plastic. They swapped plastic for glass and steel; stopped eating out, purchasing pre-packaged foods and learned to dodge those hidden exposures still looming in their lives, like thermal-paper receipts.
AFTER THE INTERVENTION
Even though Jesse’s semen analysis came back with super fertile results from the start, they knew his construction work exposed him to harmful chemicals. By the halfway mark of the three-month follow-up, both Jessie and Darby’s BPA levels had fallen to nearly undetectable; and they had conceived. They unfortunately suffered a devastating ectopic pregnancy that reduced their chances of fertility, but it gave hope that they could still conceive.
They doubled down on their plastic-free lifestyle and maintained low levels. They logged unexpected wins—ten pounds lost, deeper sleep, sharper focus and the most rewarding of all, a healthy pregnancy! They welcomed a baby boy in February 2026!
Jesse and Darby remain on fire for low-toxin living even after the study, and continue to share what they’ve learned with everyone who will listen.
